We are in an precedented time right now. Things are constantly changing and we are in a constant state of stress because we do not know what is going to change next. But let’s breathe in and out. Remember “everything is okay in the end, if it’s not okay then its not the end.” We will get through this together.
Real estate has changed to almost completely virtual. We train through teleconference, have staff meetings digitally, and show homes on FaceTime. We are adaptable but it is hard to know what to do with clients since we cannot physically show them houses. Do not be discouraged! There are so many tools at your disposal right now. 3D imaging on Zillow, Zoom, FaceTime, and even regular video (which only film in 4 min increments or it will not send).
Even virtual Open Houses. Advertise like usual and specify that it is and then instead of opening to the public do Facebook Live! Let people ask questions as you walk through the home and when you are done with that you can make easy conversation or even wait for someone to pop on and ask you to walk through the house again! Super easy and cool. And I say all of this with the assumption you are in a VACANT HOME, I am in no way suggesting you do this in someone’s home that still lives there, especially since the seller cannot actually go anywhere!
This is the time to get creative and really dive into your database. You have hundreds of people you may ignore because you are waiting for new business. But have you thought about all your sphere? They are also stuck inside, craving human interaction. Real Estate rebounds so much faster than most businesses, plant those seeds now. So when it rebounds don’t be late to the party! Call them or text them and check in on them.

“How are you feeling?”
They want to talk to someone rather than their spouse or their kids or their pets or their own mind because they live alone. I find myself talking to my dog a lot more than I used to…
Let’s take this time to reflect and see what aspects of your business you can improve on. Maybe you are always going and going, now stuff has stopped but you are freaking out, understandable but do not let this time go to waste. Use it to learn social media, which by the way is probably the most important thing you could be working on right now since 80% of the world is on the computer and their phones right now! And again clean up and contact your database. Follow up with past clients since they can give you referrals.
Put your thinking cap on and get creative! No excuse to be overwhelmed when this is over and Real Estate comes back better than ever!
