Dog days of Summer!

It's that time of year again. Store shelves are displaying shiny new school supplies, signaling the beginning of the end of summer. The first day of school is fast approaching! But before you dust off the backpacks and lunchboxes, take some time to get the most out of what's left of summer with a few last minute summer fun destinations to beat the heat. Make the most of the dog days with concerts, water parks, and even a solar eclipse viewing party!  And if you are in the market for a new home, I am here to supply you with all your real estate needs!

Even though it's almost time to get back to a school routine, there is still time to enjoy the last taste of summer. And you don't have to go far to do it. Here is just a taste of late summer local fun. Check out some of these local attractions below:
Blue Hole Park is a scenic lagoon bordered by limestone bluffs along the South Fork of the San Gabriel River. It is located five blocks north of the downtown Square along N. Austin Avenue. The park features picnic areas, trails, restrooms, and wading areas. Blue Hole Park is open from dawn until dusk. The entrance to Blue Hole Park is at W. 2nd Street and Rock Street. Free parking is available at the corner of 3rd Street and Rock Street.
Inner Space is a fun family activity that is also educational. They offer tours of the caves, a playground, a mining area, a gift shop, and several displays of fossils that were found in the cave.

Rock'N River is a family-friendly water park that features a lazy river, a water, splash pad, playground, rock climbing over water, slides & tipping buckets. Also available are cabanas, bungalows, concessions, food trucks, showers and a general store. 3300 E Palm Valley Blvd, Round Rock, TX

Typhoon Texas Waterpark features many water slides, pools ,wave pool, lazy river, splash pad, net bridge trails, challenge course and zip line! You can also rent cabanas and enjoy the concessions and general store.

Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at Prete Plaza
September 21, Noon - 2pm
Round Rock Public Library, in partnership with the Space Science Institute, invites you to experience the solar eclipse over Round Rock on August 21, 2017. The party will be in Prete Plaza while the moon’s shadow will move across our area, noon – 2 p.m. Join us for as much of the event as you’d like. Prete Plaza is located at 221 E Main Street in downtown Round Rock.

This year's Sales Tax Holiday is Aug. 11 - 13. As in previous years, the law exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced less than $100 from sales and use taxes, which could save shoppers about $8 on every $100 they spend.

FYI - Texas public schools are required by law to start following the third Monday in August, unless the state grants a waiver.
